Samsung, Microsoft, and Qualcomm are spearheading a new era of ARM-powered Windows laptops. Samsung’s Galaxy Book 4 Edge, featuring a Snapdragon X Elite chipset, is among the trailblazers. This laptop is part of the initial wave of Copilot PCs, which are equipped to leverage AI for enhanced functionalities like Recall search, real-time translation via Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects, and other tasks utilizing on-device large language models (LLMs).
Specifications and Features
The Galaxy Book 4 Edge is outfitted with a stunning AMOLED 3K (2880x1800) 120Hz touch screen, available in both 14-inch and 16-inch variants. It shares the ARM-based Snapdragon X Elite chip with Microsoft's new Surface Pro and Surface Laptop, as well as Lenovo's updated Yoga Slim 7x and ThinkPad T14s Gen 6. This chipset is touted to deliver performance on par with high-end processors from Intel, AMD, and Apple, though independent testing is still awaited.
Additional features include Wi-Fi 7 support, 16GB of RAM, a 1080p front-facing camera, and storage options of 512GB or 1TB. The laptop also boasts a commendable selection of ports. The 14-inch model features two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.1 connector supporting 4K at 60Hz, and a headphone/microphone combo jack. The 16-inch model adds a USB 3.2 port and a microSD card slot.

Samsung has partnered with Microsoft to integrate Copilot into Windows, delivering a seamless blend of on-device and cloud-based AI for an optimized user experience. Users can perform everyday tasks like setting alarms, retrieving contacts, and sending messages through Copilot’s voice prompts. Additionally, Copilot provides intelligent action suggestions to boost productivity.
Battery and Pricing
While Samsung did not specify battery life estimates—often a contentious point among PC manufacturers—the 14-inch model features a 55.9 Wh battery, and the 16-inch model comes with a slightly larger 61.8 Wh battery. The Galaxy Book 4 Edge is available for purchase on Samsung's online store, with the 14-inch model starting at $1,350 and the 16-inch model starting at $1,450.
